What happens on the walk
We ask how you want to use the yard. We do not ask what you want it to look like. Not yet.
Mara or Luis walks the whole lot with you. We look at the grade, where the water goes in a storm, where the sun is at six in the evening, what the neighbors can see, and what the soil does when you dig a hole. Then we talk about dinners, kids, dogs, and whether you actually want a lawn or just think you should have one.
- Bring a survey or old plans if you have them. If not, we pull the parcel map.
- Photos of gardens you like help. Photos of ones you hate help more.
- You get a rough budget range before we leave, out loud, in the yard.
- A short written summary and a concept proposal land in your inbox within the week.
The shop

The studio, the yard and the test beds are all at the shop on Los Gatos Boulevard, just south of Blossom Hill Road. Parking is in front. Come by to see thirty of the plants we use growing in real dirt, or to look at stone samples in daylight.
