Design-build

Design and build, one contract.

The whole yard, start to finish. We draw it, price it, permit it, build it and plant it, then look after it for a year. Projects run $80,000 to $400,000 and ten to twenty weeks on site.

What is included

Everything between the dirt you have now and the garden you eat dinner in, on one invoice.

  • Site survey, soil test and a drainage plan that keeps water away from the house
  • A hand drawn concept, then scaled construction drawings and a plant list with sizes
  • Permits and engineering for walls, structures, gas and electrical, handled by us
  • Grading, drainage, hardscape, structures, irrigation and lighting by our own crew
  • Planting by our horticulturist, with every plant tagged at the nursery
  • Four care visits in the first year, and a system map you can hand to anyone

Budget estimator

Put a range on your yard.

Yard size, scope and slope are what move a design-build number most. Set the three and see where you land before we ever meet.

4,000 sq ft
What is in scope?
Rough range $62,500 to $110,000 9 to 12 weeks on site Hardscape drives it: about 1,400 sq ft of patio and paths at $28 to $45 a square foot.

An estimate from averages on our own jobs, not a quote. Soil, access, permits and finish choices move the real number. The site walk pins it down.

Most of what goes into a design-build project is available on its own. Start with the piece that bothers you most.
